“Found Signal”: Indonesia Rescuers On Downed Plane In Java Sea

Indonesian Navy divers maintain wreckage from Sriwijaya Air flight SJY182 throughout a search.

Jakarta, Indonesia:

Indonesian rescuers stated Sunday they’d detected a sign from a Boeing passenger airplane that crashed into the Java Sea shortly after takeoff with 62 individuals on board.

A navy vessel “has discovered the sign from (Sriwijaya Air) SJ182” and divers had recovered components of the airplane from round 23 metres (75 ft) beneath the water’s floor, the transport ministry stated in an announcement, citing Indonesia’s navy chief Hadi Tjahjanto.

The ministry didn’t specify if the sign was detected from the downed airplane’s black field.
